Scoring.fit alternative: the comparison, with numbers

Scoring.fit and Competition Corner are solid platforms used by hundreds of organisers. They share one design choice: a commission on every registration. This page compares what each approach really costs, with the numbers, and shows the point where a flat fee becomes cheaper.

Pricing side by side

Public pricing collected on 15 July 2026 from the vendors' own sites. It can change: check before deciding.

A full example: 40 teams at €60

One competition, 40 teams, €60 per entry — €2,400 of registration revenue.

On a single competition of that size the commission wins — €228 against €245. That's expected: a flat fee is paid once, a commission is paid on every registration. Payment processing costs roughly the same everywhere, so it cancels out. Everything hinges on your yearly volume.

The break-even point

At €60 per entry, a 5% + €1.55 commission costs €4.55 per team in platform fees. The break-even is then straightforward:

• Half-season pass (€199): paid off from roughly 44 teams across six months.
• Season pass (€349): paid off from roughly 77 teams across twelve months.

Two 40-team competitions in a year and you're past it. A single 100-team competition gets you there too. Conversely, if you run one 25-team competition a year and nothing else, the commission stays cheaper — and that deserves saying.

The threshold rises with the entry fee: at €90 an entry, the commission reaches €6.05 per team and the season pass is paid off from 58 teams. The savings calculator runs it on your own numbers.

What the math doesn't show: the ceiling

With a commission, your bill follows your success. An edition growing from 40 to 90 teams doubles your platform cost while the tool does identical work. With a flat fee, the cost is known in advance and stops moving. It is mostly a budgeting difference: you know what you pay before registrations open.

Beyond price: the features

On the core — public registrations, divisions, teams, judge score entry, live leaderboard — the three platforms are comparable. The differences sit at the edges.

What Scoring.fit and Competition Corner do well

• Track record. Years of competitions, an athlete base already familiar with the interface, and many proven formats.
• Nothing up front. No registrations, no fees — if the edition is cancelled, you are out nothing.
• Event volume that gives them visibility among athletes Boxcore does not have yet.

What Boxcore adds

• A fixed, known cost regardless of team or competition count.
• Collection your way: Stripe built into the registration flow, or your own tool. Funds land in your account, with no payout to wait for after the event.

When to stay on a commission platform

Three situations where switching makes no sense:

1. One small competition a year. Below the break-even above, the commission is cheaper. The math decides, not preference.
2. You don't want to pay up front. The flat fee is due before the first registration. If the event might not happen, a commission commits you to nothing.
3. Registrations are already open. You don't change tools mid-edition. Plan the migration for the next one.

How to migrate

The right moment is while preparing your next competition, with the current edition still live on the old platform.

1. Create your box and rebuild the competition format: divisions, workouts, points scale.
2. Connect Stripe, or plug in the payment tool your box already uses.
3. Open registrations and share the new public link.
4. On the day, give judges their access and put the leaderboard on the box screen.

Past results do not transfer automatically between platforms. If they matter to you, keep the old public leaderboard link in your box's news.

Is Boxcore really commission-free?

Yes, for a structural reason: Boxcore never holds your money. What happens when a pass expires?

Nothing automatic: passes do not renew on their own. When one expires you decide whether to buy another. Competitions already published stay online.

The free account covers the whole preparation: box, competitions, workouts, divisions, store. Only publishing — public link, opening registrations, orders — requires a pass.
